However, their obligation to receive electronic invoices begins in September 2026.<\/li><\/ul><p><br>In other words, even an SME that is not required to issue electronic invoices until 2027 must select an approved platform and be able to properly receive invoices from its suppliers starting in 2026.<br><br>According to the Ministry of the Economy, self-employed individuals, professionals in liberal professions, and micro-entrepreneurs are also subject to these rules if they are liable for VAT\u2014including those benefiting from the VAT exemption threshold.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-478e12f elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"478e12f\" invoice is neither a scanned paper invoice nor a standard PDF attached to an email.<br><br>It must:<br><\/p><ul><li>adhere to a standardized electronic format containing structured data;<\/li><li>include all mandatory information in the designated fields;<\/li><li>be transmitted via a platform approved by the authorities, either directly or through a compatible solution.<\/li><\/ul><p><br>Continuing to use only your current processes after your obligations come into effect could therefore result in your company being non-compliant.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-085742d elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"085742d\" class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The penalties set out in the General Tax Code are far from merely symbolic.<br><br>For a business subject to the mandatory electronic invoicing requirement, each invoice that fails to comply with the new process may result in a <strong>\u20ac50 fine, up to a maximum of \u20ac15,000 per calendar year<\/strong>.<br><br>Failure to comply with e-reporting obligations also carries penalties:<br><\/p><ul><li><strong>\u20ac500 per transmission for transaction data<\/strong>, up to a maximum of \u20ac15,000 per year;<\/li><li><strong>\u20ac500 per transmission for payment data<\/strong>, up to a maximum of \u20ac15,000 per year.<\/li><\/ul><p><br>In certain cases and subject to specific conditions, a first offense may go unpenalized if it is rectified voluntarily or within 30 days of an initial request from the tax authorities. that it has taken serious steps: selecting a platform, conducting tests, documenting incidents, planning corrective actions, and carrying out remedial measures as quickly as possible.<\/p><p>The guide published by the Directorate General of Public Finance is very clear: inaction, a lack of preparation, the deliberate maintenance of parallel systems, or a persistent refusal to adopt the new system teams;<\/li><li>documented the actions taken and any incidents that occurred.<\/li><\/ol><p><br>If several of these points remain unaddressed, your company is likely not yet
